How we use your data

We use data to run the ride marketplace, make trips safer, and keep the user experience reliable.

  • Match riders with nearby driver-partners and calculate the correct pickup route.
  • Estimate fares, apply promotions, process payments, and issue receipts or refunds.
  • Help support teams handle complaints, lost item requests, fraud checks, and safety events.
  • Personalize app experience, language preferences, and service recommendations.
  • Improve the platform through analytics, diagnostics, and product research.
  • Meet legal, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.

If you enable location access, we use it to show nearby drivers, navigation, estimated arrival time, and trip tracking. You may revoke certain permissions in your device settings, but core ride features may stop working properly.

Section

Third-party sharing

We share data only when it is necessary to complete a ride, process a payment, or comply with law.

  • Driver-partners: limited pickup/drop information, rider name, and communication details needed to complete the ride.
  • Payment processors: transaction information required to authorize, clear, reverse, or dispute a payment.
  • Service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, communications, fraud monitoring, and map infrastructure.
  • Legal and regulatory bodies: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale, subject to applicable notice obligations.

We share only the information necessary for the task at hand and ask our partners to protect and process that information in line with applicable contracts and laws.

Security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

OUCAB uses a combination of technical and organizational controls such as encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, authentication checks, and fraud-detection signals to reduce misuse of your data.

  • Only authorized personnel and trusted vendors may access data for a legitimate business need.
  • Location and payment data are logged and monitored to detect suspicious activity and help resolve disputes.
  • We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, settle disputes, or enforce agreements.
  • We may anonymize or aggregate data for analytics once it is no longer needed in identifiable form.
